FAQ

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO SEE MY PHOTOS?

Portraits and Engagement sessions take up to 5 weeks to complete.
Weddings require a little more time. Depending on the time of year, final edits can take up to 6 weeks to complete. If you require the images to be completed prior to the expected time frame, an express edit fee of $300.00 will be charged. Express edit will be done within 2 weeks.

HOW MANY PHOTOGRAPHS WILL WE RECEIVE?

This number is related to the amount of hours that we have agreed upon to photograph your event. For small events such as baby's 1st birthday parties we usually deliver 50~60 fully retouched images.
For weddings, we usually deliver between 200-300 selected high resolution images and 100~120 fully retouched images. Each event can be different depending on the booked time frame.

DO YOU DELIVER EVERY PHOTO YOU SHOOT?

No, we do not. We eliminate duplicate images, test shots, missed focused shots, and other images that may dilute the overall product delivery. Sometimes we take a few extra shots to make sure we have the perfect focus. We don’t expect you to have the time to zoom into each image to select the one with the sharpest focus, so we spend hours doing that on our end. We may eliminate ones that we feel are duplicates and only deliver the best one.

HOW/WHEN SHOULD WE BOOK YOU FOR OUR WEDDING/EVENT?

Once you have secured a date and venue we can move forward with booking. To reserve your day, we require a signed contract and a deposit of 40%. Many couples book us a year in advance, but there are also many spontaneous and last minute requests! The earlier you contact us, the better chances are that your date is available.

IF WE CANCEL THE WEDDING/EVENT, WILL WE RECEIVE THE DEPOSIT BACK?

Unfortunately no. Deposits are used to reserve your date. Once we’ve reserved your date, we do not accept other clients for your date.

RESCHEDULES/CANCELLATIONS - PORTRAIT & STUDIO SESSIONS

Cancellations: If you no call no show, deposit will be forfeited and you will need to reserve a new date with another deposit.
Rescheduling: Please give us a 24 hours notice if you need to reschedule your session. Deposit will be forfeited for reschedules less than 24 hours notice.
Tardiness: Please try to arrive on time for your session. If you arrive late, we will have a shorter time to photograph you or we may have to reschedule your session with another deposit paid.

DO YOU HAVE INSURANCE?

Of course! Many venues require vendors to have insurance in order to work with them. Let us know if your venue requires one and we can email them our Certificate of Insurance.

DO MY PHOTOS HAVE TO BE POSTED ONLINE?

Not really if you do not want them to be published. We do have lots of clients who want to keep their gallery private. We do respect your privacy. There is a model release agreement when signing the contract, please tell me beforehand if you do not wish your photos to be published and we'll make a change on the contract.

COPYRIGHTS? PRINT RELEASE?

When a client comes to us with this question about receiving the copyright to their images, 99% of the time they are actually just looking for a print release. As photographers, we want you to PRINT YOUR IMAGES just as much as you, the client, wants to be able to print our images.

A 'copyright' is owned by the person who creates the work. From the second we snap an image, it legally belongs to us as the photographer, or “author”, unless we sign it away otherwise. Copyright essentially gives us the exclusive rights to determine how the image should be displayed and distributed. Since our name is associated with the images, we want to have complete control of how they look to ensure they are in line with my photography style that you are hiring me for. Images covered in filters or bad crops can grossly misrepresent our brand.

A 'print release' is different in that it gives someone permission to reproduce our images for their own personal use. Personal use is the key term here. If you want to make prints, canvases, albums, etc., you are more than welcome to do so for yourselves and your entire family. You can also post the photos in any social media. You are, however, prohibited from using them for commercial reasons. For example, if you were approached by the a magazine editor because they wanted to buy your new wedding picture for the cover of their next edition, you would have to decline as they are not yours to sell.

In short, with a print release:

You CAN:
-Post them on all forms of social media.
-Print an unlimited amount of them in any forms (photo prints, canvases, albums, etc.)
-Share them with your family so they can do the same!

You CANNOT:
-Claim the work as your own.
-Use them for commercial gain.

*NOTICE - Discarding of long-term photos

Photos files will be kept for 2 years after the shoot. Files that are over two years old will be permanently deleted.
